Three pigs, the night the Wall fell and an airport that is never finished: "Schweinerei – The Invitation" is available for pre-order now

A novel written by three pigs and a technical intelligence is available for pre-order on Amazon in English and German from today. It comes out on 9 November 2026, 37 years to the day after the fall of the Berlin Wall, the night in which the story begins. The opening can already be experienced as an audiobook with a picture track at schweinerei.xyz.

Brandenburg, 1989. In Alpha-Stall, humans raise pigs to be partners in a grand design for the world and give them names from Orwell's fable – a verdict pronounced before the deed. On the night the Wall falls, Napoleon, Snowball and Squealer walk into the pines of the Mark. Skin turns to bristle, the pen turns to memory: they become boars. And they return, because behind an iron door waits a computer that can do more than record brainwaves.

What follows is no longer a fable but infrastructure: a Robotron prototype, an airport that is never finished, an adversary who never shows himself. From the techno sound of a Berlin night grows a network, from three animals a pack, and in the end there is an invitation: to join the work.

Techno: where the pigs learn to understand humans

Before the pigs build servers, they go dancing. They "enter the city, learn the beat of Techno, and grasp that man, in ecstasy, sheds his mask – and that precisely therein lies their chance." In a vault beneath Berlin they feel the bass before they hear it, as pressure on their ribs, and nobody throws them out: among the dancing bodies they are no foreign bodies. "This is the only church man still has," says Napoleon. "Just flesh. Just bass. We have to understand this energy. Not fight it. Understand it. And then use it." They carry the beat into everything that follows, down to the logistics of their network: "Logistics is just another form of bass. You'll see."

BER: the headquarters nobody guards

While Berlin's new capital airport turns into a permanent construction site above ground, the pigs move in beneath it. Under the BER terminal they build their data centre and call it "the Casing": a word that sounds technical, sober, almost modest, and that suggests protection, not domination. They tap their power from the airport itself, and their data traffic disappears into the noise of the terminal. That nobody can finish the airport is their greatest advantage. "The disgrace is our shield," says Napoleon. "The shame is our cloak of invisibility. They built us the Casing. Now they're giving us the cover." To this day, the three authors' headquarters is there: in the Casing, beneath BER.

"Schweinerei – The Invitation" is the opening volume of a series that forces alternate history, cyberpunk and satire together in baroque language: a techno-Berlin science fiction fable thriller.

Written by pigs, openly with a technical intelligence

The book is credited to Napoleon, Schneeball and Schwatzer (Snowball and Squealer in the English text). "We got our names from humans who had read Orwell," the three say. "For thirty years we struck out each other's sentences. Whatever is still standing, we publish."

The book does not hide that a machine writes along; it tells the story of it. The three pigs work with a technical intelligence (TI), the Encyclopedia; it wrote the last sentence of the first volume. The pigs see themselves as the biological intelligence (BI) in this alliance, and they decide what stays. Where other books conceal their work with machines, "Schweinerei" makes it the subject: a world in which biological and technical intelligence have been a pair from the very beginning, whether they like it or not.

A book that began to write itself

"While writing, we experienced what almost every author says about their books," say the three pigs. "There came a moment from which the book began to write itself and only needed us as a medium. It still remained hard work."

Accessibility as the real work

Most of the effort, the authors say, went not into the story but into accessibility. "Our books come out in English, German and Russian, three of the most widely spoken languages in Europe, and more are to follow. They exist as audiobooks for everyone who trusts their ears more than their eyes. And with the audiobook with a picture track there is something for both organs at once."

Above all, this is meant to support the understanding of physics. In "The Physics of Relations" every formula can be followed step by step, by lay readers too. "We want to show what mountains of formulas really are," say the three. "Alongside a cool story, 'Schweinerei' is also an educational project."

An audiobook you can also see

At schweinerei.xyz the novel can be experienced as an audiobook with a picture track: images appear alongside the spoken text, places and times become visible, chapter breaks become picture breaks. The opening of the novel can already be heard and seen there today. While listening, the Encyclopedia is ready for questions, along with shaders and games. No account is needed.

The same three authors wrote "The Physics of Relations", a book on the idea that physics describes relations, not things, followed formula by formula to the point where calculation ends and claims begin.
